Why choose recycled and recyclable bottles (instead of compostable or glass)?Updated 3 months ago

We have seriously examined the ecological impact of our packaging. Our conclusion was as follows: offering compostable bottles may sound good on paper, but in reality, unfortunately, they will not decompose in your home compost. These bottles need to be placed in industrial composters, which are only available in a few cities in France. To compost them, you would need to not only find the time but also drive there, which ultimately is not as practical or ecological as it seems.

As for glass, there are several downsides: an increased risk of breakage (carriers are not always gentle with packages!), the need to add more padding in the boxes to protect the bottles, and heavier shipments due to the weight of the glass. From experience, using glass bottles can negatively affect the shopping experience, as receiving a damaged product is never pleasant; in addition, it increases returns to us, which requires more transportation (which is not good for our planet).

That’s why we opted for bottles made from recycled and recyclable R-PET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), which we believe is currently the best compromise.
